Instagram is Testing New AR ‘Try On’ Ads with Selected Advertisers

Instagram is always looking for new ways to provide more advanced advertising options, in order to help retailers maximize engagement and response.

For the moment, AR functionality attracts the attention of more and more advertisers and of course of simple users. That’s why Instagram is now testing new AR ‘try on’ ads with selected advertisers, through which consumers will be able to actively engage with different products virtually and see how it looks on themselves.

As explained by Mashable:

“Beginning today, a handful of brands that sell their products directly on Instagram will be able to add a new augmented reality try-on feature to product pages. Initially, the new AR feature will be limited to cosmetics (Mac and Nars are early partners) and eyewear brands (Warby Parker and Ray-Ban), but Instagram plans to make it available for more products over time.”

It’s worth mentioning that new AR “try on” tools would be available via selected ads from the noted partners, so users could to share these experiences via Stories feature, helping to spread the information.
